The Peace Prize
Every two years, Osnabrück awards the Erich Maria Remarque Peace Prize.
Erich-Maria-Remarque-peace-prizeThe Osnabrück Peace Film Award has been presented by an independent jury since 2002 as part of the Independent FilmFest Osnabrück and, at 15,000 euros, is the highest-endowed film award on the subject of peace in Germany. The competition brings together feature films and documentaries that use the aesthetic means of film to promote understanding between cultures and make an outstanding case for humane thinking and tolerance.
The founder of the Peace Film Award Osnabrück is the Sievert Foundation for Science & Culture. In 2023, the prize will be awarded for the 21st time as part of the 38th Independent FilmFest.
