To mark the end of the anniversary "375 Years of Peace in Westphalia", the City of Osnabrück, in cooperation with the Global Diplomacy Lab (GDL), is inviting around 50 young people from abroad to Osnabrück for a week-long dialogue forum: a Youth Peace Lab. Here they come together with young Osnabrückers and, guided by a team of experts from the GDL network, deal with the topic of intersectional conflict mediation.
The Youth Peace Lab aims to strengthen the exchange between young people who come from different life worlds and to support them in talking about current conflicts from their very own position. In the best case, they even develop approaches together on how these conflicts could be solved.
With the Youth Peace Lab, the city of Osnabrück focuses on the empowerment of youth and promotes sustainable networks between young people from all over the world. An active contribution by a city of peace that could not be more important at the moment.
During the Youth Peace Lab, inputs, workshops and interactive discussion rounds will be offered to the participants. In addition, the City of Osnabrück is developing an accompanying framework program through which Osnabrück residents can also participate in the project.
Further information on the planned supporting events will be available here shortly.
The Youth Peace Lab is funded by the German Foreign Office. In addition, the project is also supported by many partners from the region within the framework of a youth sponsorship.
